NEW YORK (AP) — "The U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether #ColumbiaUniversity concealed 'illegal aliens' on its campus, one of its top officials said Friday, as the Trump administration intensified its campaign to deport foreigners who participated in pro-#Palestinian demonstrations at the school last year.

"Agents with the Department of Homeland Security searched two university residences with a warrant Thursday evening. No one was arrested and it was unclear whom the authorities were searching for, but by Friday afternoon U.S. officials had announced developments related to two people they had pursued in connection with the demonstrations.

"A Columbia doctoral student from #India whose visa was revoked by the Trump administration fled the U.S. on an airliner. And a Palestinian woman who had been arrested during the protests at the university last April was arrested by federal immigration authorities in Newark, New Jersey, on charges that she overstayed an expired visa."

CR craziness. Think it’s time for the boomers to step down and let the younger generations lead.

It was a tough decision but imo they voted based on unknowns. Stating if a shutdown occurred then it would hand them over keys to do what they want. That was an unknown assumption but we do know the CR sucked yet the still endorsed it. I’m disappointed in how they’re not standing up more and thinking it’s the old fashioned crew that is stunting the party. No offense to boomers I’m gen X so not far behind but we need more from what they’re giving us then the constant playing it safe because it’s not aligned with what is happening now maybe in the simpler times but now we need to fight.

Tell them why. Tell them the Democratic party has failed its bare minimum duty as the opposition party. Tell them you won't consider donating to any Democrat again until Chuck Schumer is removed as Senate minority leader and the party has made a strong commitment to fighting the hostile takeover of our government, instead of meekly complying in handing over our country.

Sounds like austerity to anyone outside the USA, but the trick is giving a purely adhoc technocratic administration the freedom to rectify the situation.

That's how it is done in other countries, they allow the hegemonic parties to walk away from the problem and allow a third party to literally take over the country.

Something like that is unthinkable for the US, therefore a big party must be willing to sacrifice itself to save the country.
