tobadzistsini
Soft chanting with a deep rumble eminates from three nude augments meditating before a panoramic window along the outer ring of the zócalo. tobadzistsini
Hopping through the crowd is a small pink and black krink (5?). They are holding a balloon made of a nanoscale carbon polymer. Within the swirls a white, gray, and brown smoke with eyes like cyclones. A hissing voice chides, "Not so fast". "Say 'sorry' to the sophont." "Don't play with the airlock controls." The small krink is having too much fun to listen to their sitter. 4/x
#wss366

tobadzistsini
A serious game between a megamutt, a bespectacled human with red hair, and a neanderthal is afoot in the corner of the cafeteria. Half the zócalo turns around when the megamutt triumphantly shouts, "GO FISH" The bespectacled human leans over, "No, you have a royal flush." A beverage is unceremoniously expelled from the neanderthal's nose when they begin laughing, making a mess of their cards. 3/x
#wss366

Asakiyume
After his father died, five-year-old Silvio cried himself to sleep by one of the heliconias in his father's botanic garden. "Your boon," she said, and lowered her head to her paws, great tail ckrling around her.

"I..."

"Do not understand," she rumbled sadly, cutting me off. Her tears started steaming on the stones. "No one ever does. My boon is my heart, my vulnerability. I allow you to see it. Asakiyume
Jake, Toby, & Amaryllis were playing Robin Hood, or maybe it was Rival Elvish Factions--hard to say, but it involved firing arrows at each other from behind trees & stone walls. The arrows had originally been tipped with suction cups, but the kids had removed them & sharpened the ends. No risk, no joy! Today's innovation was dipping them in tar & setting them aflame.

"You #missed!" crowed Amaryllis when Jake's arrow went wide. Steven D. Brewer 🏳️‍⚧️
He'd been at the bar for a long time and was drinking his third scotch when the music started up. He looked over his shoulder and saw that a young woman had started playing the piano. Her fingers seemed to #glide effortlessly over the keys. She moved smoothly from one song to the next. She wasn't using sheet music, but playing from memory. But not just playing the notes. Her music was invested with feeling, spirit, and soul. He closed his eyes, swept away by the sound and his memories.

#wss366
