Lianna (on Mastodon)<p>I can't help but feel icky about <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/AstroBot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AstroBot</span></a> for it just feels like a giant advertisement. A featureless brand language-coded robot flying around on a consumer product-shaped vessel; enemies, locations, everything just being branding assets. It doesn't feel like a developer rather than a salesman wanted to make this you know?</p><p>I am super hypocritical here given that I very much loved when <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/Nintendo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nintendo</span></a> did it, for example with the Balance Board as a character in <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/WiiFit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WiiFit</span></a>.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/TGA2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TGA2024</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/GameAwards" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameAwards</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gaming</span></a></p>
